Review

The HAMA Safe X40-B is a reliable compact shredder for light office and home use. It delivers strong security (P4/T4/E3) and can destroy plastic cards via the paper slot. It’s easy to use and includes reverse/jam-clear and overheating protection. The main limitations are the short continuous duty cycle (2 minutes) and the small bin, so it’s best for intermittent use.

Pros

• Compact, desk-friendly design
• High security level per DIN 66399 (P4/T4/E3)
• Handles plastic and magnetic/chip cards
• Auto start/stop and reverse function

Cons

• Short continuous runtime (2 minutes)
• Small waste bin — needs frequent emptying under heavier use
